Rochelle Leggett is the director of St. Francis of Assisi Preschool. She has been at St. Francis of Assisi since 2002. Before then she worked as a teacher and director at Milpitas Christian Schools. She has been in the educational field for 26 years.
She has her Site Supervisor Permit and holds a Masters in Business Marketing from University of Phoenix.
In 2002 she was asked to help open St. Francis of Assisi Preschool, with determination and many meetings St. Francis was opened in September 2003. Fast forward 14 years later we have serve over 780 children in our community. Many of the children are freshmen in high school and come back to the preschool to work off their community hours.
Rochelle and her husband have six children and nine grand children who all live in the area. She has been married to her wonder husband Darrell for 36 years. She and her husband serve as marriage minister at their church. We are looking forward to a great school year; she is available to answer any questions or concerns.
Tina Galgani currently is on the Faith Formation Committee here at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She is a Faith Formation leader for Generation of Faith program (GOF). She works with children of all ages. She enjoys sharing the experience of our rich faith journey and worship with school-age Catholics. She also holds 12 ECE units in Child Development. She has taught preschool at Stratford School, teaching mathematics, language skills, science, social studies, music and fine arts. Her approach is developmental and “hand-on” which fits in well our curriculum.
Her goal and mission is to create a school community that inspires children to realize their full potential, while providing a safe and nurturing school environment. Ms. Tina drafted a new curriculum for the 2014-2015 school year based on the Common Core Standards. Along with the curriculum, her teaching methods will develop children’s social skills through faith and love based lessons.
Ms. Tina has been married for 16 years and has a 14-year old daughter who will be entering Presentation in the fall. She loves to spend time with her family, reading and sewing. Both Ms. Tina and her daughter are parishioners here at St. Francis of Assisi and do a lot of volunteer work here. She is on the Faith Formation Committee, which includes spiritual and Catechetical instruction for everyone of all ages in the parish.
Tina Abbasi graduated with a Bachelors degree from Punjab University, majoring in Economics and Statistics. While working and helping children from underprivileged families, she realized how much she loved working with children and what a difference it made in their lives to get an early education. Working with the children gave her a lot of satisfaction to see them succeed, so she decided to enter the teaching profession. She has experience teaching children in elementary school, as well as tutoring other higher grade children. She has been working as a preschool teacher and as a substitute teacher since 2010.
Ms. Tina has been married for nineteen years, and she and her husband have been blessed with three lovely daughters. She has a lot of international exposure, and has travelled to many different countries. She has also had the opportunity to live in three different countries. As a result she has enjoyed working and teaching children from different backgrounds and cultures. She enjoys reading books and poetry, listening to music, riding and sailing. She also enjoys creating flower arrangements.
Ms.Kristal works as a volunteer at St. Francis of Assisi preschool. She currently a student at Evergreen Community College and is majoring in Psychology
When asked why Ms. Kristal chose to volunteer at the preschool, she simply stated that not only is she a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi, but she also enjoys offering her time and working with children. Naturally, it was an opportunity she could not pass up especially under the guidance of both Ms. Marvie and Ms. Tina.
When Ms. Kristal is not attending school or volunteering her time, she enjoys singing, drawing, club activities and reading.
As a new teacher, you have been chosen to perform one of the most valuable services there is. I want to thank on behalf of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish and Preschool for the commitment you have made and the contributions you will soon make to the quality of life in your community.
